Here is some background info all about this.
Frank’s World Mosaic was commissioned in 2006 by Elaine Walsh for Affleck’s Palace and was displayed in Tate Britain in June 2006, when Frank performed his show at “Late at the Tate”:
“An Evening with Frank Sidebottom*
Friday 2 June 2006, 19.00–21.30
Timperley’s favourite football fan, Frank Sidebottom, performs his weird and wonderful nasal renditions of popular songs, accompanied by his Casio keyboard. Sidebottom presents material from his latest album, Frank’s World, and gives slide shows on ‘How to keep pets’ and ‘How to dress up for a fancy dress party”.

He had an album out at the time, “Frank’s World”. A short animation was made, also called “Frank’s World” and the mosaic was made as an introduction to the animation.
The design for the mosaic was drawn by Chris Sievy and it was crafted by Mark Kennedy who is well known for his impressive mosaic artworks, some of which adorned the outside of Affleck’s Palace.
